Maine sculptor Bernard Langlais (1921–1977) achieved success in the 1950s through his wood-crafted sculpture, which was often abstract or based in animal imagery. This catalogue of Langlais' work was produced in conjunction with the Portland Museum of Art exhibition Bernard Langlais: Independent Spirit (April 11—June 9, 2002).
